Over the years, at horse racing in Grande Prairie and elsewhere around the province, the industry has been kept viable by many women and men who are no longer with us.
Evergreen Park salutes them at Pioneer & Memorial Weekend – normally held over two days in August at The Horses @ Evergreen Park.
In the Dynasty Energy Winner’s Circle several times throughout the weekend families and friends of the departed loved ones gather after having watched a race named in honor of that special person who was at one time a big part of horse racing in the province.
It can be a somber time, but also one of celebration of the contributions made.
